The family go Walking with Dinosaurs.

Recently, Mark and I decided to take the boys to experience Walking with Dinosaurs - the Arena Spectacular.

Not sure how the boys would be with seeing life-size dinosaurs, we decided to choose seats that weren't too close. On the upside to this, we had a great panoramic view of the whole stage. When we got into our seats, we found we also had a great position, centre to the front of stage.

From the moment the show started, the boys were mesmerised by the dinosaurs and enjoyed the experience.
Mark and I enjoyed the show too!

Family trip

We took our first "family trip" north to visit the relatives. It was the first time Mark's parents had met our tribe.
The drive was not too bad... kids behaved rather well... and everyone enjoyed the time spent together!

Being an avid Holden fan, Cat was unsure about allowing the car into his driveway... however we managed to convince him it would be ok... we got photographic proof of a Ford in his driveway!

During our time there, we went for walks along beaches... the kids enjoyed time with Nonna and Grandad Cat... and I felt Nonna and Cat enjoyed it too!

Cam especially enjoyed spending time with nature... fascinated by what he found...

While Cody enjoyed playing in the water and being Mark's little buddy!

Kaitlyn explored the beach, took photos and decorated the sand.

We celebrated Mark's birthday and our engagement with a few family and friends by having a BBQ.

We also went to the Ingham Show, where we spent a couple of hours walking around and having fun... the boys enjoyed a couple of rides and we all enjoyed the Circus Fun House!

We all had such a great time! Looking forward to the next family trip to visit Nonna and Grandad Cat! ... another adventure it shall be...starting with a plane trip.

An AMAZING Moment......

Sunday 18th April 2010 at The Three Monkeys cafe, West End.

Mark and I (with Kaitlyn) met friends from Success and You for a Social Club afternoon of drinks, snacks and chat. We decided to sit at a couple of large round tables in the outside courtyard area as there were quite a few of us who had shown up. We chatted, enjoyed our drinks and some of us enjoyed a snack or meal too.

"Mingling time" announced Jodie, "Mark will explain how it is all was going to work."
Mark then started to tell 'our' story, before dropping to one knee and producing a gorgeous ring, followed by the words... "Sammy. Will you do me the honour of being my wife?"
"Yes" I replied as he placed the ring on my finger.
Cheers erupted from our S & Y friends, while I was speechless! The rest of the afternoon remains a little blur in my mind.....

Manda, had managed to captured the moment on her mobile.......

The next chapter of our life together begins.

Mt Tamborine and Cedar Creek Falls

Good Friday, a perfect chance to spend some time in the outdoors with my partner Mark, and my children. We decided on a drive to Mt Tamborine, where we had a picnic in the park.

The view from a lookout

We then drove back towards the bottom of the mountain taking a detour - a walk to the beautiful Cedar Creek Falls.

Cody and I took in the beautiful surrounds while watching the others explore the rocks.

Cam was like a spider on the rocks.

Wonder where our next adventure will take us....

Dinosaur adventure!

Home safe from our adventures with the dinosaurs, but they weren't half as scary as the bus ride in. I'm not so sure taking the bus was the best option afterall..... our driver seemed to think he could go through a red light. I think he may have been anticiapating it changing to green as he approached, but when it didn't he suddenly slammed on the brakes resulting in many passengers being thrown forward into the backs of the seats in front..... luckily no one was seriously hurt!

Cody and Cam on the bus

Once we made it to the Cultural Centre, we alighted from the bus and made our way to the Museum. Cam getting more and more excited the closer we got.

Cam looking down into the Dinosaur Garden.

T-rex and Triceratops were just as I remember them from last time I visited the museum, but the Dinosaur garden area had been transformed into more of a play area for kids, with some interactive displays as well.

T-rex

Triceratops

Interactive display on eggs including what a dinosaur egg looks like.

Robotic dinosaur hatchlings

Sing and dance with dinosaur shadow show.

Enjoying lunch while watching the shadow show.

Riding T-Rex

Cody in the play tunnel.

After having a great time in the Dinosaur Garden, we decided to take a look around he rest of the Museum.

Muttaburrasaurus Skeleton.

Triceratops and T-Rex Skulls.

Adds new meaning to the term "pest" - LOL.

Is this where that Bundy bear ended up after a night out?

Cam even liked seeing the snakes on display too!

After exploring the rest of the museum, we caught the bus home.... the journey being much more pleasant than the trip in. Cody fell asleep on the bus and Cam soon after, during the car trip home from the bus station.
We had a great time on this adventure. Stay tuned for the next one.

Public Holiday...... what could I do to entertain 2 young boys?

Woke up on this fine and sunny Monday morning, wondering what I could do to entertain my two young boys today. The day is too beautiful to spend indoors or simply at home.
After looking at what was on offer in Brisbane, I've decided to take them to the Museum with the main attraction being the new Interactive Dinosaur garden.
To make the trip even more special, I think I may even treat them to a ride on a bus or train.... cheaper option than having to pay for parking I'm sure.

I have camera charged, so will update this blog with some pics once we get home from our exciting adventure! So stay tuned!
